Title: Just in Time KM: Roots and Interventions
Author: Dave Snowden
Details:
A number of researchers are now using the term ‘Just in Time’ Knowledge management. This article supports the work of Tom Davenport and John Glaser related to embedding (knowledge) into the technology that knowledge workers use to do their jobs, but will argue that we cannot universalise from that model into other contexts and that there is a huge area of JIT-KM that can reap a significant return for minimal investment if we focus on accelerating natural processes rather than attempting to impose a “rational” model onto human systems.
